Somatic Experiencing (SE) is an evidence based approach of facilitating nervous system health that was originally developed in the 1970s.  It is an integration of multidisciplinary studies of stress physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, medical biophysics with over forty five years of successful application.SE works by helping the nervous system find a regulated way of functioning. 

The SE approach facilitates the completion of self-protective motor responses and the release of thwarted survival energy bound in the body. This is approached by gently guiding clients to develop increasing tolerance for difficult bodily sensations and suppressed emotions.
